Trump's Gaza Deal Reignites Stablecoin Hopes

US President Donald Trump announced what he called a 'historic' disarmament agreement with Hamas on July 31, as part of a months-long peace process led by the Board of Peace. The deal involves a phased disarmament of Hamas and other armed factions in Gaza, along with an Israeli withdrawal, all bundled inside a 20-point stabilization plan.

The framework builds on a ceasefire brokered by the US in October 2025 that ended roughly two years of military conflict. According to Trump, Hamas has agreed to accept the disarmament terms laid out in the 20-point plan, but Israeli officials have found parts of the proposal unacceptable.

Trump credited the Board of Peace, which he chairs alongside Jared Kushner, for their role in brokering the deal. The Board has previously floated introducing a dollar-pegged stablecoin to streamline digital transactions and deliver essential services in Gaza, including healthcare payments and e-learning access.
