Trump's Hopes Lift Bitcoin Above $65,000 Mark
Bitcoin is hovering near $64,830 on Thursday, up 0.8% over 24 hours and 1.3% on the week, according to CoinDesk data.
The market is in a wait-and-see mode as most major cryptocurrencies barely moved, with Ether rising 2.1%
The bid under Bitcoin is coming from macro hopes rather than fresh crypto demand, driven by President Donald Trump's comments on strong employment, better manufacturing data, and cooling inflation.
Trump also raised the possibility of a deal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, which could put pressure on oil prices, easing inflation worries and giving Treasury yields and the dollar room to fall.
