Trump's Hyperliquid Regulation Hints Send Stocks Soaring
Wednesday's market saw an unexpected surge in Hyperliquid shares and its associated token HYPE after President Donald Trump hinted at regulating the decentralized exchange.
The president mentioned that Commodity Futures Trading Commission Chair Mike Selig is working to bring Hyperliquid into the US 'in a fully compliant and legal fashion.'
Hyperliquid's stock rose 30% before closing, bringing its year-to-date gain to over 163%, while HYPE jumped 18% and approached record highs.
In contrast, shares of Cboe Global Markets dropped 3.5%, Miami International Holdings fell 3.1%, and CME Group slid 1.7%.
