Trump's Long Shadow: Can Democrats Undo the Damage?

A Democrat midterm win may not be enough to undo the damage caused by President Donald Trump's policies. Experts believe that reversing the harm will require Democrats to win control of both houses of Congress and repeat their victory in 2028, while also winning the White House.

Trump has intentionally designed some of his policies to be difficult to reverse, such as the construction of the White House Ballroom, which is nearing completion. He has also collected billions in crypto with his family, issued controversial pardons, and may have been involved in Jeffery Epstein's activities.

To truly stop Trump, Democrats will need to control the political and economic levers of power in D.C. This means winning both chambers of Congress by a significant margin. Black voters will need to show up at the polls in large numbers, as they did during Obama's presidency. Disgruntled Latino voters, Independents, and pro-democracy Republicans must also support Democratic candidates.

Democrat candidates need a message that is greater than mere opposition to Trump. They should focus on giving Americans hope for a better future, where hard work and following the rules can lead to a good life.
