Trump's Virtual Asset Meeting Boosts Bitcoin to $71,683
U.S. President Donald Trump's meeting with virtual asset industry executives at the White House led to a surge in Bitcoin and related stocks on June 20. The price of Bitcoin reached $71,683, surpassing the $70,000 mark just 80 days after hitting $71,320 on June 1.
The largest virtual asset exchange in the U.S., Coinbase (COIN), saw its stock price rise by 9.55% to close at $160.2. The world's largest Bitcoin Treasure company, MSTR, jumped 12.68% to $104.25, while stablecoin issuer Circle Internet Group (CRCL) rose 9.56% to $78.59.
The U.S. Treasury Department announced that it would more than double the amount of long-term government bond buybacks from at least $2 billion to over $4 billion per session, which helped boost the bitcoin spot market.
