Trusted Names Still Vulnerable: Vlad Tenev's X Account Compromised by Fake Memecoin Scam
Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev's X account was compromised to promote a fake memecoin, highlighting the vulnerability of even trusted names in crypto.
The scam posts claimed that the token, called 'Vladhood', would be listed on Robinhood Chain and encouraged users to act quickly before the opportunity passed.
However, the posts were removed after it was discovered that attackers had extracted around $1.2 million to $1.3 million in Ethereum (ETH) from unsuspecting users.
The incident serves as a reminder of the power of social engineering in crypto scams and the importance of verifying information before taking action, especially when money is involved.
