Tudor Investment Boosts IBIT Holdings Amid Reduced Call-Equivalents
Tudor Investment, a firm run by Paul Tudor Jones, has increased its holdings in BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF. According to the company's latest SEC filings, Tudor Investment reported 18.9% more direct shares in IBIT at June 30 compared to March 31.
The increase in direct shares was 109,446, with the total number of shares rising to 688,529 from 579,083. However, the firm's call-equivalent quantity fell by 85.2%, or 998,000 to 148,000. The put-equivalent quantity remained relatively stable at June 30, edging down to 715,000 from 725,000.
The reported values for the direct shares, call line, and put line were $22.9 million, $4.93 million, and $23.8 million respectively at June 30. The SEC filing requires option values and quantities to be stated in terms of the underlying security, which is IBIT shares and their quarter-end market value.
The exact strategy behind Tudor Investment's moves remains unclear, as the SEC guidance excludes written options and short equity positions. The August 14 submission captures holdings as of June 30, with any later transactions falling outside the snapshot.
