U.S. Bank Deploys Own Stablecoin on Stellar in Cross-Border Pilot
U.S. Bank, one of the largest banks in the US, has successfully completed a live transaction using its own U.S. dollar stablecoin, USBDC, on the Stellar network.
The pilot, which took place on September 9, 2026, involved moving value between U.S. Bank entities in North America and Europe, demonstrating 24/7 settlement capability that traditional correspondent banking cannot offer.
U.S. Bank used its internally developed Digital Asset Platform to mint, redeem, freeze, and claw back USBDC, exercising four core functions of a regulated stablecoin.
