U.S. Bank has successfully completed a live cross-border payments pilot using its proprietary USBDC stablecoin on the Stellar network.

The test involved transferring value between U.S. Bank entities in North America and Europe, exercising key stablecoin controls such as minting, redemption, freezing, and clawback.

The bank described the pilot as a validation of its Digital Asset Platform, which connects tokenized assets and stablecoin operations with existing banking risk, compliance, and operational systems.

U.S. Bank is now evaluating additional use cases for its proprietary stablecoin, including cross-border treasury operations, liquidity management, and moving collateral onchain.
