U.S. Banks Unite to Build Nationwide Blockchain Network by 2027

Share

Nearly forty U.S. state banking associations have joined forces to create an industry-owned blockchain network for banks, dubbed BankChain Alliance.

The ambitious project aims to launch by 2027 and will support stablecoins, tokenized deposits, and smart payments.

Kathy Kraninger, former CFPB director and Florida Bankers Association CEO, is leading the initiative as interim chair.

The network is designed to be interoperable with other blockchains and will allow banks of all sizes to offer modern financial services to customers across rural, urban, and regional communities.
