U.S. Bank's USBDC Stablecoin Completes Live Pilot on Stellar Network
U.S. Bank's proprietary USD-backed stablecoin USBDC has successfully completed a live pilot on the Stellar network, marking one of the first bank-issued stablecoins deployed on a public blockchain.
The pilot allows for traditional bank dollars to be placed in production conditions on an open network, rather than a private or permissioned ledger. This deployment makes XLM the settlement rail for a stablecoin issued directly by a U.S. bank, giving the network a concrete foothold in traditional finance.
Although the pilot status is the main limitation, as it does not yet confirm full-scale issuance or sustained transfer volume, this event serves as a measurable institutional-adoption signal for the network. The rarity of bank-issued tokens on public chains and each deployment setting a reference point for other regulated issuers evaluating public settlement rails make this achievement significant.
