The proposed World Liberty Trust Bank has gained attention due to its ties to UAE capital. An Abu Dhabi-linked investment group, led by Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, reportedly owns a 49% stake in WLTC Holdings. This is the largest disclosed stake in the holding company behind the proposed bank.

The bank would handle operations related to the USD1 stablecoin, including issuance, redemption, custody, and fiat conversion. The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) has granted preliminary approval for this operation.

An entity affiliated with President Donald Trump's family owns a 38% stake in WLTC Holdings. This places UAE capital at the center of the proposed US-regulated operation for the USD1 stablecoin.
