UAE Surges Past US to Second Place in Global Crypto-Friendly Rankings
The UAE has risen to second place in a global ranking of crypto-friendly jurisdictions, according to the Henley Crypto Adoption Index 2026. The country received a perfect score for tax friendliness, with no tax on crypto trading, staking or mining.
The UAE scored 46.4 out of 60 in the index, behind only Singapore's 47.1 and Hong Kong's 46.2. It is ahead of the US and Switzerland. The country also ranked first in Henley's separate Wealth Mobility Competitiveness measure with a score of 85.3 out of 100.
The UAE's multi-layered digital asset market was highlighted as one of its strengths, including dedicated virtual asset regulation in Dubai and a separate crypto framework in the Dubai International Financial Centre. The country also has established regimes in other financial centres.
