Ubisoft Shuts Down Blockchain Gaming Project Champions Tactics
Ubisoft has announced that it will be shutting down its blockchain gaming project Champions Tactics on October 30. The game, which launched worldwide in October 2024 as a player-versus-player tactical RPG, allowed players to build teams using digital Champions that could originally be minted, traded and combined through systems connected to the Oasys blockchain.
The publisher removed blockchain trading and minting in May 2026, but servers will remain available until October 30. Ubisoft has stated that players can continue to enjoy the game during its final months, and that accounts with Divine rank during at least one of the final three eligible seasons may receive rewards in Might & Magic Fates.
The closure marks a significant milestone for Champions Tactics, which had a lifespan of roughly two years. Ubisoft has not released player numbers, sales totals or NFT trading volume for the game.
