UBS Boosts Stake in BlackRock Bitcoin ETF

UBS has increased its stake in BlackRock's Bitcoin ETF, iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT), to about 2.5 million shares worth nearly $90 million as of June 30.

This represents a significant increase from the end of 2025, when UBS held approximately 549,000 IBIT shares valued at around $27 million, a gain of about 230% in just six months.

The share count expansion is measured by a nearly 355% increase from the prior period, with UBS adding roughly 2 million new shares to its holding.

It's worth noting that the reported value increase comes not from a rise in IBIT's price but rather from additional shares held by UBS. The fund's market-price return fell 32.95% during the six months through June 30, according to BlackRock's data.
