UCLA Researchers Turn to OnlyFans and Meme Coins for Funding

Share

The researchers behind one of the world's longest-running wildlife studies have turned to OnlyFans for funding, generating $4,000 so far. The UCLA project tracks yellow-bellied marmots in Colorado and needs between $75,000 and $100,000 annually.

Professor Daniel Blumstein came up with the idea when traditional research funding became scarce. A graduate student dubbed the account 'OnlyMarms,' which has become a way to reach new audiences and promise subscribers 'uncensored marmot content.'

The project's popularity has attracted attention from the crypto community, where several OnlyMarms-inspired meme coins have appeared on Pump.fun. Blumstein said the researchers did not create these tokens.
