UK Court Orders Liquidation of Crypto Firm Accused of Ponzi Scheme

Share

A UK court has ordered the liquidation of Key Coin Assets Ltd, a cryptocurrency investment firm accused of operating a Ponzi scheme. The company promised investors returns of 40% to 100%, but investigators found no evidence that it engaged in actual cryptocurrency trading.

The UK Insolvency Service brought the case against the company, which raised over £300,000 from nine investors who later reported losses. Investigators discovered that returns paid to existing investors were funded by money from new investors, a hallmark of Ponzi fraud.

Funds deposited by investors were largely transferred to a company executive's personal bank account on the same day they were received, indicating direct misappropriation of funds.
