UK Court Refuses Saitama CEO's Extradition Challenge
Saitama CEO Manpreet Kohli has lost his UK court challenge against extradition to the United States, where he faces charges of wire fraud and cryptocurrency market manipulation tied to a token valued at $7.5 billion.
Kohli allegedly made about $20 million while promoting Saitama, telling investors they were buying or holding tokens when in reality they were privately selling them for millions of dollars.
The UK court rejected Kohli's argument that safeguards in the United States would not adequately address the risk that he could take his own life while in custody. The judge said there are 'clearly appropriate arrangements' to manage Kohli's mental health and reduce the suicide risk 'to an acceptable level.'
