UK Man Becomes Overnight Millionaire After Accessing 12-Year-Old Bitcoin Wallet

A man in the UK became an instant millionaire after accessing his Bitcoin wallet that had been untouched for over a decade.

The individual, who wishes to remain anonymous, had invested £1,500 (~$2,000) in Bitcoin through Intersango (formerly known as Britcoin) back in 2011. At the time, the investment was worth around $5,400.

However, when he tried to withdraw his funds in 2014, his account had been frozen due to the company's financial troubles. The man was left with no choice but to watch as the value of his inaccessible Bitcoin rose and fell over the years.

It wasn't until this year that his wife encouraged him to reach out to a firm specializing in recovering lost cryptocurrency. Within months, the firm had successfully returned the funds, which were now worth around £3.3 million ($4,480,000).
