UK Reform Party Takes $7.3 Million from Crypto Ties Amid Policy Influence Concerns
Reform UK, a UK political party led by Nigel Farage, has accepted significant contributions from figures tied to the crypto industry. Records from the UK's Electoral Commission show that BitMEX co-founder Ben Delo contributed $7.3 million in the second quarter of 2026, making up about three-quarters of all funds received.
The two separate contributions from Delo amounted to $1.3 million and $4 million, respectively, both made in April. This is not the first time Delo has supported Reform UK, as he also contributed $5.3 million in the first quarter of 2026.
Farage is currently under investigation after receiving millions of dollars' worth of donations and gifts from two figures tied to the crypto industry: Christopher Harborne and George Cottrell. The contributions have raised questions about potential influence on policies, with Labour MPs considering making a moratorium on crypto donations permanent.
