A UK resident named Chris has recovered 61 Bitcoin that he had considered lost for over ten years. The cryptocurrency was worth around £3.3 million at the time of recovery.

The assets had remained on the defunct Intersango exchange, which was previously known as Britcoin. In 2011, Chris bought Bitcoin via Intersango when its price was about £2.94 per coin.

However, by late 2012, the platform began winding down operations and stopped working by early 2014. Users were unable to withdraw their funds, and representatives of the exchange went silent.
