Ukraine Cracks Down on Global Crypto Phishing Ring
The Ukrainian police and Security Service have shut down a massive crypto phishing network that targeted victims across more than 20 countries. The ring, which used fake investment websites to steal from users' wallets, was led by a 25-year-old IT specialist who faces up to 12 years in prison and asset confiscation.
The authorities arrested over 46 suspects, all of whom are Ukrainian citizens, as part of the crackdown on the fraudulent operation. The police stated that the scammers created fake websites disguised as investment platforms, luring victims into a trap that allowed them to access their crypto wallets.
