Ukraine Crypto Fundraising Hits $28 Billion Milestone with Whitepay
A fundraising platform called Whitepay has claimed to have raised 2 million USDT (Tether) for Ukraine, a cryptocurrency stablecoin tied to the US dollar. With each USDT worth $1, this amount is equivalent to IDR 28 billion.
Whitepay was founded by Estonian cryptocurrency exchange Whitebit and Ukrainian fintech and crypto entrepreneur Gleb Udovychenko. The funds are intended to help provide military equipment for Ukraine's forces and aid war-affected citizens.
In addition to USDT, donations can also be made using other cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), Polkadot (DOT), and Dogecoin (DOGE).
According to Whitepay CEO Gleb Udovychenko, the humanitarian fundraising efforts will continue until Russia leaves Ukraine. The platform has also opened donations to assist the Ukrainian Ministry of Health in tackling war-affected citizens.
