Ukraine Dismantles Global Cryptocurrency Fraud Ring Stealing $1M Monthly
Law enforcement in Ukraine has dismantled a sophisticated cryptocurrency fraud ring that operated fake investment platforms across over 20 countries, stealing up to $1 million per month.
The scammers used malicious 'drainer' software to automatically empty victims' wallets upon connection. The operation generated significant revenue and resulted in at least 62 identified victims.
Authorities have confiscated over 100 computing devices, more than 100 mobile phones, currency, and 15 automobiles as part of the raids. A 25-year-old tech expert orchestrated the scheme, employing over 46 Ukrainian nationals in several Kyiv-based locations.
