Ukraine Finalizes Crypto Taxation Framework with Preferential Transitional Period
The Ukrainian government is finalizing its crypto taxation framework, which will require taxpayers to declare their assets and pay profit tax only when they cash out into fiat. The law will also introduce a preferential transitional period for assets acquired before its implementation, allowing individuals to come out of the shadows and declare their holdings without penalty.
The regulation aims to bring most of the crypto market out of the shadows by making it cheaper to operate legally than illegally. Physical cash locations, however, may struggle to meet the requirements due to the need for customer identification and financial monitoring.
