UN Teams Up with DFINITY to Revolutionize Government AI and Cloud Systems
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has partnered with the DFINITY Foundation to develop AI and cloud systems for governments. This collaboration aims to test the effectiveness and safety of tailored AI and cloud infrastructure in public services over a one-year period.
The partnership will focus on three main avenues: educational platforms, public software development, and government self-custody in secure software deployment. Five countries will participate in the project, each presenting a national problem that would benefit from Web3 technology.
DFINITY has previously launched similar systems with Pakistan's Digital Authority, enabling the country to keep its data within its borders. The UN has been researching blockchain-based technology for several months and has deployed a Blockchain Advisory Group.
