Undervalued Altcoins: Solana, Chainlink, and XRP Poised for Recovery
The cryptocurrency market has been experiencing weak price action for months, but some analysts believe that certain large-cap altcoins are undervalued and poised for a recovery. Solana (SOL) is one such coin, which remains about 75% below its all-time high and has returned to price levels last seen in late 2023.
Despite the decline, U.S.-listed Solana investment funds have recorded inflows on every trading day last month, with nearly half of the assets held by institutional investors. The funds now manage about $1 billion in assets.
Solana's largest network upgrade to date, Alpenglow, is expected to improve transaction finality from 12.8 seconds to about 150 milliseconds later this year, significantly reducing settlement times. However, challenges remain, including a decline of nearly 80% in daily network revenue and weakened retail participation.
Chainlink (LINK) is another undervalued project, which continues to trade more than 80% below its all-time high despite its infrastructure expanding across traditional finance. Chainlink enables banks and financial institutions to connect with blockchain networks without replacing their existing systems, and has partnered with firms such as SWIFT, UBS, and Euroclear.
XRP is also highlighted as an undervalued asset, despite its price decline of nearly 43% this year. XRP's long-term value lies in its role in cross-border payments, liquidity, and tokenized assets, according to Sagar Shah, Chief Business Officer at Evernorth. With the SEC lawsuit largely resolved, XRP now has seven U.S.-listed investment funds, which have attracted nearly $1.5 billion in cumulative inflows since launch.
