Undervalued Bitmine Poised for Gains with Large Ether Stake
Bitmine, a company that owns nearly 5% of Ether's circulating supply, is undervalued relative to its Ether holdings.
The cryptocurrency market experienced a downturn last year due to fears of higher interest rates and macro headwinds. However, with the recent U.S. debt crisis and potential passage of the CLARITY Act, investors are returning to top cryptocurrencies like Ether.
After reaching a record high above $4,900 in August 2025, Ether plummeted to around $1,500 in June this year but has since rebounded to nearly $2,500. One way to play this recovery is by buying the token directly or investing in an ETF.
However, Bitmine could potentially generate even bigger gains due to its significant position in Ether. As of now, it holds 5.85 million Ether tokens, worth approximately $14.6 billion, making it the world's second-largest crypto treasury company after Strategy.
The company trades at a discount to its net asset value (NAV) due to continuous share issuances to cover Ether purchases and corporate obligations. Nonetheless, Bitmine earns an average annualized yield of 2.7% through staking its Ether, which partially offsets this pressure.
