UNI Price Rally May Be Short-Lived Amid Overbought Indicators
UNI has surged by 6.42% to $3.90, but the technicals suggest that this rally might be short-lived. The price is currently trading above every major moving average on the chart, including the 7-day, 20-day, 50-day, and 200-day SMAs. However, this move is contained within a narrow daily range of $3.66, $3.96.
The broader DeFi narrative around Uniswap's dominance as a DEX remains unchanged, with protocol governance active and institutional attention toward DeFi blue chips still present. But the recent rally arrived on just $14.3M in Binance spot volume, which is not indicative of fresh conviction.
According to technical indicators, the RSI is at 67.75, just shy of overbought territory, while the Stochastic is already deep in overbought territory. The MACD histogram has landed at zero after a 6% daily move, indicating momentum exhaustion. The Bollinger %B position is also high, with price sitting on the upper band.
The immediate resistance levels are $4.02 and $4.14, and clearing both in the next two sessions would be technically significant. Failing at $4.02 would put $3.72 and then $3.54 directly in the crosshairs.
