UNI Surges 7.8% on Robinhood Chain Growth and Burn Economics
Uniswap's (UNI) price surged by around 7.8% over the last 33 hours, driven primarily by growth on Robinhood Chain and the protocol's burn economics.
The significant increase in trading volume on Robinhood Chain, where Uniswap charges relatively high fees, has led to a substantial boost in protocol revenue for UNI. With nearly two-thirds of Uniswap's total protocol earnings coming from Robinhood Chain, investors are repricing the token as a result.
The combination of record Uniswap activity and the way protocol fees now accrue to UNI is also contributing to the price increase. Uniswap recently set a record with over 7 million swaps in a single day across multiple chains, while protocol-fee switches are active on v2 and v3 pools on 11 chains.
The burn narrative is also playing a significant role in UNI's price surge. With millions of UNI tokens burned since late 2024, the consistent flow of tokens being removed from circulation is supporting the price during and after sharp runs.
