Unicoin Sues Uniswap Labs Over UNI Trademark Dispute
Unicoin has filed a lawsuit against Uniswap Labs in New York's Southern District, seeking to cancel the registration of the UNI trademark. The complaint alleges that Uniswap's counsel sent three demand letters accusing Unicoin of trademark infringement and dilution.
The letters dated June 3, July 17, and August 14 demanded that Unicoin stop using its mark, transfer two domain names, provide an accounting of revenue and profits, and reimburse Uniswap's legal fees. Unicoin argues in the complaint that its UNICOIN mark does not infringe or dilute Uniswap's claimed marks.
Unicoin is also seeking a declaration that its domain names do not violate the federal Anti-Cybersquatting Consumer Protection Act. The lawsuit was filed weeks before Unicoin's planned public launch date for the UNCN token on September 28.
