Uniswap Brings Regulated Trading to Decentralized Exchange
Uniswap has launched permissioned pools for regulated trading on its decentralized exchange (DEX), allowing tokenized assets to trade onchain without compromising regulatory compliance.
The new feature, called Permissioned Pools, is a structural shift in how tokenized funds and equities can meet DeFi liquidity while adhering to regulatory requirements. Uniswap's latest protocol version, v4, introduced 'hooks' that enable custom logic to be plugged into pools without altering the core protocol.
Permissioned Pools are built as one of these hooks, making it possible for regulated assets to trade on AMMs without sacrificing compliance checks. The system enforces allowlist checks on every swap and liquidity addition, ensuring that only approved addresses can participate in trading.
This development marks a significant milestone for institutional-grade standards in the tokenization space, with Uniswap collaborating with several partners, including Superstate, Securitize, and Dowgo, to shape the authorized Pool standard for tokenized equities and funds.
