Uniswap founder Hayden Adams has addressed criticism surrounding the v4 upgrade of the decentralized exchange (DEX), dismissing rumors as 'FUD and misunderstanding'. In a recent post on X, Adams stated that claims about reduced liquidity pool fees are false. He clarified that protocol fees are additive, not subtractive, meaning LPs in a 30bp pool still earn 30bp per swap.

Adams responded to the criticism with a breakdown of the fee switch, stating 'The protocol is taking 25% of LP profits', Made-up math. On a 30bp pool the protocol fee is not 75%, but rather [a percentage that was not specified].

Critics have highlighted issues beyond fee structuring in the v4 upgrade.
