Uniswap Hits $1B Tokenized Stock Milestone on Robinhood Chain
Uniswap's tokenized stock volume on Robinhood Chain has surpassed $1 billion for the first time, according to Uniswap founder Hayden Adams. This milestone is a significant growth from earlier this week when the combined trading volume reached $638.5 million.
The $1 billion figure represents cumulative swaps involving multiple tokenized stocks rather than one token or deposited assets. Uniswap's stock-token volume has been steadily increasing since July, with notable activity observed on Robinhood Chain after its public mainnet launched on July 1st.
Robinhood Chain is an Ethereum layer-2 network built using Arbitrum technology, where Uniswap operates as the primary automated market maker. The platform allows traders to exchange Robinhood Stock Tokens through liquidity pools instead of traditional order books. Supported assets include tokens tied to US-listed companies such as Nvidia, Apple, and Alphabet.
Uniswap founder Adams expects trading volume for tokenized stocks to eventually reach $1 trillion, but did not provide a timeframe for this projection. The growth of Robinhood Chain's activity has also fed into Uniswap fees, with the protocol generating around $5 million in fees across one 24-hour period in July.
