Uniswap Labs Launches Permissioned Pools on Uniswap v4
Uniswap Labs has launched Permissioned Pools on Uniswap v4, allowing approved users to trade tokenized funds, securities, equities, and other restricted products directly via automated market maker (AMM) pools.
This update brings issuer-managed allowlists into the core of Uniswap v4. Before any swap or the opening of a liquidity provider (LP) position, the pool's smart contract calls a hook to check whether a wallet address appears on the issuer's list.
Issuers now have the option to adopt the restricted format for assets needing identity verification, transfer restrictions, or investor eligibility checks; otherwise, they may opt for the standard pool format. Uniswap itself is not responsible for the composition of the allowlists or for managing wallet approvals.
The introduction of Permissioned Pools reflects ongoing efforts to reconcile decentralized finance with global regulatory standards, creating new pathways for compliant real-world asset trading through Uniswap's decentralized infrastructure.
