Uniswap Slumps 9% Amid Weakening Retail Demand
Uniswap's price has fallen nearly 9% on Wednesday after recording a 5% decline in the previous session. Despite launching Continuous Clearing Auctions on Avalanche, which allows teams to conduct on-chain token sales and bootstrap liquidity, Uniswap's social dominance and volume have sharply declined.
The feature aims to reduce friction during token distribution by allowing teams to conduct auctions transparently through smart contracts. However, the launch has not been enough to offset the broader risk-averse mood in the cryptocurrency market.
Retail interest in Uniswap is weakening ahead of the release of July's US Consumer Price Index report, which could influence the Federal Reserve's next interest-rate decision and affect demand for risk assets.
