Uniswap Soars as Robinhood Chain Fuels Record Trading Volume
Uniswap's price has surged 100% since August 14, and the main contributor to this growth is Robinhood Chain. This Arbitrum network generated two-thirds of Uniswap's revenue in the past month. The original Robin Hood took from the rich and gave to the poor, but this iteration takes from the chain it was built on and pays a protocol that has struggled with revenue.
Robinhood Chain traded $17.99 billion in August, a 26% increase from July. On September 1, its biggest single day yet, nearly every dollar passed through Uniswap pools. This deepened interest is worth more to Uniswap than a rush of new wallets.
The fees collected by Uniswap on Robinhood Chain are substantial: $78.73 million in trading fees over the past 30 days. Arbitrum receives 10% of the chain's net revenue, which amounts to $1.32 million. This is 60 times less than what Uniswap collects.
Uniswap charges higher fees on Robinhood Chain, particularly for tokenized stocks traded in the two highest v4 tiers. These fees are significantly higher than those charged on Ethereum, with rates of 84 and 351 basis points compared to 45 and 241.
