Uniswap StablePair Hook Sets New Volume Record on Ethereum
Uniswap Labs' new StablePair Hook has achieved unprecedented success since its deployment on Ethereum's mainnet on September 10. In just five days, it surpassed all other pools on the network to become the highest-volume pool.
The StablePair Hook addresses a common issue with traditional automated market makers by using a dynamic fee mechanism that adjusts based on how far the pool's price has drifted from its defined reference rate. This results in tighter and more predictable bid/ask spreads within a narrow band around the reference rate.
When the price moves further away from equilibrium, fees start high but decay block by block, similar to a Dutch auction. Traders who contribute to bringing the price back toward the reference rate pay zero fees.
The USDC/USDT pool is one of two initial pools launched with the StablePair Hook and has seen significant volume. Uniswap processed $43.4 billion in stablecoin-to-stablecoin swaps during Q2 2026, surpassing the next three on-chain trading venues combined.
