Uniswap Surges 100% as Robinhood Chain Becomes Key Revenue Driver
Uniswap's price has more than doubled since August 14, and the source of this surge is unexpected. The key factor behind Uniswap's revenue growth is Robinhood Chain, a network launched by Robinhood on Arbitrum in July. According to data from DefiLlama, Robinhood Chain traded $17.99 billion in August, with nearly two-thirds of that volume passing through Uniswap pools.
This means that almost every new dollar on the chain is a new dollar of Uniswap fees. The number of traders barely changed, but wallets rose 22% since August 1, and volume grew seven times. This growth in interest from existing users has led to a significant increase in revenue for Uniswap.
Arbitrum earns 10% of Robinhood Chain's net revenue, which came to $1.32 million in 30 days. In contrast, Uniswap collected $78.73 million in trading fees over the same period, making up 66% of its total earnings across all chains.
Uniswap also earns more per dollar on Robinhood Chain due to higher fee tiers. The chart for Uniswap's price action shows a bull flag pattern after a 100% run from $3.16 on August 14 to $6.38, with volume agreeing that the market is still deciding whether to believe in this revenue story.
