Uniswap Surges on Protocol Upgrades and Aggressive Token Burns
Uniswap's (UNI) price surged over 8% in recent days due to protocol upgrades and an aggressive token burn mechanism, boosting demand for the asset. The uptrend is supported by UNI/USD trading decisively above all major moving averages.
The platform logged $71 billion in 30-day trading volume, maintaining its lead in the decentralized exchange sector. Uniswap's fee mechanism was extended to v4 pools, directing fees toward buying and burning UNI tokens, with a notable 100 million UNI treasury burn.
Protocol revenue rose to $29.8 million, and the annualized UNI burn rate reached approximately $160 million after the fee switch in December 2025. The current price of UNI stands at $6.763, above the MA-20 ($5.7876), MA-50 ($4.6363), and MA-200 ($3.6684) moving averages.
