Uniswap's 40% Week Raises Questions About Aerodrome's Prospects
Uniswap (UNI) saw its token price surge by over 40% in one week, raising questions about whether Aerodrome (AERO) could be next to benefit from this trend.
The growth of UNI can be attributed to Uniswap's dominance in hosting liquidity for tokenized stocks on Robinhood Chain, which has led to a significant increase in trading volume and fees. In fact, according to Token Terminal, about 60% of Robinhood Chain's stock token trading now happens outside regular market hours.
These extra trading sessions have created new opportunities for traders, with Uniswap holding 99% of the stock token liquidity on Robinhood Chain. As a result, the fees generated from these trades are used to buy UNI on the open market and burn it, contributing to its price increase.
Aerodrome, launched by Coinbase in August, has also seen significant trading volume, with $103M flowing through its pools in the first few days. However, AERO's price has been stagnant, sitting around 9% lower over the past week compared to UNI's 40% surge.
Analyst John Gillen is optimistic about Aerodrome's prospects, stating that volume is coming for Aerodrome and with it, gains. He has already started buying AERO in preparation.
