Uniswap's Burn Mechanism Accelerates, Fueling Price Surge
Uniswap's burn mechanism has accelerated, burning around 592,000 tokens over the past week. This brings the total cumulative burn to over 111 million tokens.
The burn is funded entirely by real protocol fees, which are increasing due to rising Uniswap activity. As more users interact with the platform, fees rise, and more UNI tokens are bought and permanently burned.
This trend has contributed to a 6% increase in UNI's price, trading near $6.61 at the time of writing. The integration of Ink L2 across Uniswap's web app, wallet, and API also adds another usage channel for the platform.
