Uniswap's Token Could Surge 40-Fold by 2030 Amid DeFi Growth
Standard Chartered, a major bank, has forecasted significant growth in tokenized assets in decentralized finance (DeFi) by 2030. The bank expects the value of these assets to increase 37-fold, reaching $2.7 trillion by the end of 2030.
This growth is attributed to the increasing adoption of real-world assets, stablecoins, and crypto-native assets on-chain trading infrastructure. Uniswap (UNI), the largest decentralized exchange, is expected to benefit from this trend.
Geoffrey Kendrick, head of digital assets research at Standard Chartered, noted that tokenized assets could grow to $4 trillion by 2028, with a share of 30% active in DeFi by 2030. The bank's forecast implies that Uniswap liquidity pools will have 37 times more on-chain assets available to trade.
Standard Chartered initiated coverage on Uniswap and set a price target for the UNI token at $100 by 2030, representing a 40-fold increase from its current price of around $2.50.
