Uniswap's Trade Pools Launchpad Takes Off on Robinhood Chain
Uniswap has launched a new token launchpad called Trade Pools on Robinhood Chain, which charges a 0.25% trading fee compared to 1% charged by some other platforms. This move has been met with skepticism from some critics who accuse Uniswap of trying to 'extract' value from users.
In response, Uniswap CEO Hayden Adams defended the new launchpad, stating that it offers a level playing field for users and that they are making a bet on quality technology over extractive practices. He added that Trade Pools will work well even as they grow and 'extract far less' from traders.
The launchpad has quickly become the leading token launchpad on Robinhood Chain, with Uniswap's Pools Trade handling nearly $237M in trading volume just two days after its debut. This surge in activity is also helping to drive usage of Uniswap v4 and giving Robinhood Chain a boost in competition against Solana and BNB Chain.
The success of Trade Pools has also had an impact on the price of UNI, which saw a 5% pump to $4.19 after the launchpad's debut.
