Unitree Perpetual Futures Skyrocket Ahead of Chinese Listing

The perpetual futures tied to Chinese robotics company Unitree have surged in digital-asset trading, with prices reaching $100 on Hyperliquid. This implies a valuation of approximately $40.5 billion for Unitree, which is roughly 300% above its expected IPO valuation of $9 billion.

Unitree's listing on the Shanghai Stock Exchange's STAR Market is scheduled to take place on August 19. According to Dylan Wu, a research strategist at Pepperstone Group, Unitree will be the first pure-play humanoid robotics stock to trade on a public market globally.

The strong interest in Unitree is also reflected in its IPO, which drew subscriptions equal to 5,526 times the shares on offer. While perpetual futures are not backed one-for-one by physical shares and do not grant shareholder rights, this level of demand suggests that investors are optimistic about Unitree's prospects.

Unitree posted a net profit of 278 million yuan (approximately $41.2 million) last year, with a gross margin exceeding 60%. The company's financial performance has likely contributed to its strong market appeal.
