Upbit Cuts Ties with Synthetix Amid Sustainability Concerns
South Korea's largest cryptocurrency exchange, Upbit, has announced it will stop supporting trading for Synthetix (SNX) on September 28. The decision was made after a review that began on August 7, when SNX was added to the exchange's warning list due to unresolved issues around supply-plan changes and project sustainability.
The notice from Upbit does not specify any technical failures but rather frames the delisting as a result of fundamental concerns about the token's economics. The exchange has followed this pattern before, moving tokens with unresolved security or governance questions onto caution lists ahead of removal.
SNX holders have 30 days after the cutoff to withdraw their assets from Upbit, until October 28. After that point, the exchange may no longer support the asset, and users are advised to complete any outstanding trades on the pair before the September 28 halt takes effect.
