Upbit to End Bonk Trading Support Amid Unresolved Issues
South Korean exchange Upbit has announced it will end trading support for Bonk (BONK) on September 7, 2026. The decision comes after a two-month review that started in July when a $20 million exploit of BonkDAO's treasury pushed BONK's price down over 9% within hours.
Upbit initially designated BONK as a trading-caution asset on July 7, 2026, but the underlying issues remained unresolved. The exchange will cancel all open orders at 15:00 KST and withdraw support for BONK-related services such as wallet upgrades and hard forks.
BonkDAO had notified law enforcement about the hack and was working to recover the funds, which has not been confirmed yet. Upbit's notice doesn't explicitly state that the delisting is due to the hack but mentions that the reasons behind the caution designation remained unresolved.
