US and UK Unite on Digital Asset Framework, Boosting Stablecoin Regulation
The US and UK have announced a joint digital asset framework, aligning their regulatory approaches to stablecoins and tokenization.
This landmark agreement is a result of the Transatlantic Taskforce for Markets of the Future, established by UK Chancellor Rachel Reeves and US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent in September 2025.
The framework covers key areas such as the treatment of fully backed payment stablecoins, tokenized asset settlement finality, cross-border capital raising, and collateral eligibility for tokenized instruments.
A private sector-led group will run a one-year pilot program to test cross-border tokenization use cases, including tokenized securities and money market funds.
