US Bank has completed a live pilot of its proprietary US dollar-backed stablecoin, USBDC, on the Stellar blockchain. The transaction successfully moved value between US Bank entities in North America and Europe while remaining connected to the bank's finance, risk, compliance, and operations systems.

The pilot tested key functions including minting, payment redemption, freezing, and clawback capabilities through the bank's internally developed Digital Asset Platform. This platform links tokenized assets with established banking infrastructure.

US Bank cited Stellar's global reach, near-instant settlement, and transaction costs below one cent as reasons for its suitability to support regulated financial services. The bank noted that this is a first for a bank-issued stablecoin deployed on a public blockchain.
