US Bank Successfully Moves Own Stablecoin Across Europe on Public Blockchain
U.S. Bank, a 163-year-old financial institution, has successfully moved its own stablecoin, USBDC, across Europe using an open public blockchain. The Stellar-based transfer was part of a live pilot that demonstrated the bank's ability to accelerate global cash management and money movement capabilities.
The pilot validated U.S. Bank's Digital Asset Platform infrastructure, which evaluates minting, payment redemption, freezing, and clawback capabilities. This technology is designed to create value for clients and harness the power of new technologies within the banking system.
U.S. Bank has been working with the Stellar Development Foundation, and this pilot represents another step forward in their digital asset strategy. The bank's focus remains on delivering solutions that solve real client challenges while maintaining safety, security, and reliability.
